New Orleans is alive with history, culture and community; a colorful tapestry rich with creativity and craftsmanship. New Orleans is eclectic, layered and has a soulful patina. New Orleans is authentic, enchanting and full of revelry. New Orleans is one-of-a-kind and has an endless parade of inspiration and delights; where you can meander amongst beautiful things and even more beautiful people.

New Orleans is home.

New Orleans is an immersive experience that tantalizes all of your senses! It is a simmering gumbo pot full of celebration, food, music and art. Markets, festivals and Mardi Gras burst with sights, sounds and sensations. From elaborate Twelfth Night balls to ‘Tit Rex to the Krewe of Red Beans, there is no shortage of creative splendor. Handmade cork figurines from the Merry Antoinettes and glass beads from the Krewe of Iris parade are coveted by enthusiastic hands. Festivals overflow your cup with fun memories throughout the year. The City Park Arts Market, The Brass Monkey on Royal Street, Alex Beard Studio and Century Girl Vintage on Magazine Street, and the New Orleans Auction Galleries have you panning for gold; local shops like Moss Antiques, Bargeboard Nola and Merchant House are treasure troves. Brass bands and jazz music waft through the air and rhythmically sync with your heart beat. Hi-Do Bakery king cakes, Leah’s Pralines and Piety & Desire Chocolates indulge your tastebuds. Celebrations ring from every corner — connecting people to place, the human spirit to community.

Palm Orleans fabrics and wallcoverings is headquartered in the historic Bayou St. John neighborhood of New Orleans. Within the walls of the studio side of a double shotgun house, Palm Orleans flourishes. Patterns and colorways emerge from the bespoke cocoon that is dressed head to toe in Palm Orleans fabrics and wallcoverings with a playful glamour and exuberant charm. Directly next door to HQ is the Pink House at Palm Orleans, where a myriad of activities occur — pattern development, photoshoots, prep for events like Art in Bloom, and giving chairs a Palm Orleans glow up.

Fans of slow design and sustainability, designing and modifying furniture for the home is a wonderful creative outlet and chance to engage with local craftsmen, like Uptown Restorations for caning, E. Lee Fine Finshes for painting, and Spring & Twine for upholstery. Our favorite field trips are selecting paint colors, like the high gloss beauties of Fine Paints of Europe from Helm, and sourcing pieces from Big Easy and H & H estate sales — where you can simultaneously pursue curiosities and have an impromptu self-guided home tour. The Garden District, in particular, hosts fabulous homes that easily pull you into a fantasy filled with shade-dappled streets and lush courtyards. Selecting the perfect fabric from our collection and trims (we love Samuel & Sons and Fringe Market!) is all too enthralling. Being considered a Specialty Artisan on Chairish has us giddy to list our luxurious ladies once they are ready for their closeups.

We certainly revel in the “after” images and are blown away with the transformation from beginning to end. However, we have such an admiration for the talents and handiwork of our creative cohorts we out source to that we find the behind the scene images of their spaces, tools and progress shots even more compelling! We are grateful that they preserve the skill and techniques of their trade. Each piece is a platform for craftsmanship, an essence of the Palm Orleans brand, and an objets d'art that takes up space and speaks loudly for the love we have for our city, our business, and our community.

Frondly yours,

Palm Orleans
