LAGNIAPPE

Lagniappe, pronounced lan-yap, is a Cajun-French word that means “a little something extra” and is the NOLA-call to describe something good or given as a bonus. The good times, les bons temps, are rolling here at HQ and we love being able to share the culture of Palm Orleans with you!

Flower Magazine is a luxury lifestyle publication that entertains & inspires those with a passion for flowers, gardens, design, art and travel. Our Palmetto Stripe fabric in Audubon played a dramatic role as the backdrop for the luxuriously layered tablescape by Amanda Smith Fowler on page 108 of the September/October 2022 issue. In addition to simply enjoying this visually stunning At the Table image and Flower Magazine as a whole, we also want to champion the art and design of print media for continuing to create timeless and sensationally tactile pages that we are ever so happy to contribute to.

Kips Bay Decorator Show Houses bring the best of interior design to Manhattan, Palm Beach and Dallas, supporting influential boys and girls clubs that assist young people in realizing and achieving their potential. We were thrilled to be a part of The Tea for Two vision of interior designer, Sara Hillery, where our Twelfth Night wallpaper was “dancing across the ceiling” (Lauren Wicks, Veranda).

Absolutely thrilling to see Palm Orleans wallpaper in this captivating New Orleans farmhouse renovation on The Magnolia Network’s show, In with the Old (Season 4, Episode 9). Watching our Carnival Toile in Tuxedo parade happily along the walls of the dramatic downstairs powder room left us giddy. Revitalizing these treasures always makes for an unbelievable, before-and-after transformation, and, when local builders, like Bargeboard, and designers, like Nomita Joshi-Gupta of Spruce, use their creativity and brilliance to preserve classic New Orleans houses, we all win!

We love our city and being a part of the vibrant tapestry that is New Orleans, so being spotlighted in local media is especially thrilling to us! We were tickled pink seeing Palm Orleans Cabana Stripe Ribbon and Palmetto Stripe wallpaper grace the glossy pages of New Orleans Homes and Avenue magazines (we must say the colors were popping in the digital versions too!). New Orleans Magazine showcases and highlights the best of the best in home & design and we cannot wait for what’s next...

THE PINK HOUSE AT PALM ORLEANS is our studio space located in the Bayou St. John neighborhood of New Orleans next door to Palm Orleans HQ! The Creole-Pink-painted cottage is where we take all of our product photography and design new patterns & other lagniappe. With an affinity for before and afters, we started refurbishing chairs found locally and giving them a Palm Orleans glow up with the help of our talented friend and neighbor, Michelle of Spring & Twine. The “afters” are available on Chairish.

The Preservation Resource Center'S Spring Home Tour is held anually and raises funds for the Preservation Resource Center that will help protect the historic architecture, neighborhoods and cultural identity of New Orleans. We were thrilled for Palm Orleans Headquarters to be included as a bonus stop on the 2023 tour of the Bayou St. John & Parkview neighborhoods.

Our collection of fabrics and wallpapers have such a unique and distinct joie de vivre that they have the ability to transport you. In this LA to LA design concept for the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group’s Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney, you can experience the Big Easy in California! Whether you are seated in the Queen’s Room, Gulf Room or Sunset Room, you will be enveloped by the whimsical spirit of New Orleans and the modern-coastal Palm Beach vibes that the Palm Orleans collection brings to commercial and residential spaces alike.

When Replacements, Ltd. launched their designer program with a “knockout High Point installation,” they enlisted Southern designers to work their magic and create “unique tables that show off the range of the company's goods” (Hadley Keller, ADPro). We were honored that Palm Orleans’ fabric and wallcoverings were featured in Lisa Mendes’ Reflections over Sunday Supper colorful and bespoke vignette.

We were overjoyed that Southern Living wanted to spotlight our founder’s point of view as a New Orleans native and textile designer in their Jan/Feb 2023 Let’s Celebrate editorial called, Let the Good Times Roll. Working alongside several talented ladies to actualize this story was an absolute delight and the mastery that each brought to the table made for an extraordinarily successful photoshoot as evident in the final images printed on the glossy pages of Southern Living. The “pattern-happy brunch” featured festive table linens made from Palm Orleans linen cotton fabric in the Wisteria colorway and other “lively fanfare” that “infused the space with a feeling of unfussy elegance” (Betsy Cribb).
