Palm Beach isn't just a destination for me; it's a vivid tapestry woven with the threads of creativity, style, and personal connections that feel as timeless as the ocean itself. This trip was particularly special as it celebrated not only my birthday but also the 8th anniversary of Palm Orleans.
Having lived in New Orleans, the summer weather in Palm Beach always feels familiar. I love visiting Palm Beach during their off season because it feels like I have the whole island to myself. This quiet, less crowded time allows for a more personal connection with the place and its people.
My adventure began solo, fueled by a meticulously curated itinerary designed to ignite my creativity. The first stop was at Christa’s South Seashells, a place I've wanted to visit for years. I've admired Christa's intricate seashell art from afar, and it was an absolute delight to find that Christa herself was the true gem of the showroom. Her passion and warmth infused every corner of the space, making the experience even more special as she shared the stories behind her beautiful creations. The main image of our blog (and below) was taken many moons ago in Miami when I first viewed the incredible work of Christa Wilm at the Faena Hotel, how fabulous? Next, I ventured to Show Pony, where you could find fun, funky vintage finds that were quintessentially Palm Beach. I felt like I was walking into chairish.com!
The afternoon was rich with discoveries as well. My visit to Bamboo and Rattan was extra special when I happened to meet the owner, Charlene, outside and we were twinning in our chambray blue ensembles. As we chatted, she even recalled using our Palmetto Stripe in one of her interior design projects! Charlene’s collection is truly a treasure trove for those seeking unique, elegant pieces that blend functionality with flair. After Bamboo and Rattan, I made my way to Julia Amory, where I was completely captivated by the space. The shop, designed with the expert touch of Caitlin Kah Interiors, couldn't have been more perfect. The New Orleans brand FLEUR Home accent trim lining the tented ceiling added just the right amount of oomph! I left the store with the cutest shift dress for my daughter, who was on her way to Palm Beach.
On my way to the last fun little shop on my itinerary, I stumbled upon Aqualillie—and it felt like pure kismet. This turned into a most unforgettable stop! Her wallcoverings would have perfect synergy with Palm Orleans' textiles in a space. The visual dialogue of patterns and colors was mesmerizing, and I could have spent hours soaking it all in and chatting. I was so fortunate to have connected with someone who shares my passion for design and appreciation of craftsmanship. Make sure to visit her new Palm Beach Showroom she shares with the ultra talented Helen Bergin Interiors on your next visit!
That evening, my family arrived, and we kicked off our time together with a delightful dinner. The next day, we spent a blissful time by the ocean, enjoying the serene rhythms of the waves—Palm Beach's shores providing a perfect backdrop for family fun.
I was especially proud to bring my daughter to the fabulous Hive Trade Showroom, a place that boasts some of the most bespoke textiles in town! The showroom’s exquisite design and decor offered endless inspiration. Seeing her eyes light up as we explored the beautifully curated space together was the highlight of my trip and a special moment we shared that I will cherish. Later, we strolled down Worth Avenue, starting at Casa Branca and enjoying each piece in the shop that reflects the elegance and artistry that makes Palm Beach a true mecca.
Our day wrapped up with a lively dinner at The Colony Hotel, where live music and fine dining combined for an unforgettable evening, echoing the vibrant spirit of Palm Beach. Reflecting on this getaway, I felt sated and inspired — Palm Beach once again proved to be a place of joy, discovery, and timeless elegance. Perhaps it's time to start manifesting the purchase of a condo here! Once you’ve experienced Palm Beach, it’s hard to imagine life without it. Here, life's special moments are celebrated with style, sophistication and sensations that make every visit unforgettable.
Frondly yours,
Palm Orleans
